NYC Metastasis Network

Overall Goals

The NYC MetNet Research Center studies the cellular crosstalk that mediates the non-sequential progression of melanoma cells during primary tumor development. We postulate that the acquisition of metastatic potential is determined by a system of interactions both within the tumor microenvironment and its draining lymph nodes that educate tumor cell behavior and condition the host to be receptive to metastatic spread.

Project 1: Tumor cell intrinsic determinants of early dissemination in melanoma.
Project 2: Contribution of the stromal microenvironment to early dissemination
Project 3: The evolving role of regional lymph nodes in melanoma progression
